Heya folks,
We’re launching in-game PiP (Picture-in-Picture) streaming just in time for the Fortnite World Cup Finals! Here’s how to catch all the action, while playing Fortnite.
How do I watch?
Drop into the Fortnite lobby to begin your viewing of the Fortnite World Cup Pro-Am and Finals. You’ll see a "Watch Now!" button in the upper right corner of the lobby. Clicking this opens up a Durrburger mini-game while the PiP (Picture-in-Picture) video loads. When you’re ready, you can click the video stream to make it full screen.
You can still tune in to all of the official Fortnite streaming channels to watch the event as well:

Can I watch the Fortnite World Cup Finals while playing a match?
Yes! The PiP functionality allows you to view the broadcast while playing to pick up wins of your own.
What if I want to watch a specific player?
If you head over to the ‘Compete’ tab from the in-game lobby on PC, Xbox, & PS4, you’ll see a section for the Fortnite World Cup Finals competition. Select the leaderboard to see the competitors ranked by stats and placement with the ability to click in to watch a specific replay.
A few notes to keep in mind as this is our first step towards fully building out the in-game streaming experience:
- The Picture-in-Picture broadcast for the Fortnite World Cup Finals will be on by default. You can opt-out in the lobby by simply closing the window once (we’ll remember your preference). You can opt-out while in a match by opening the main menu and clicking the Stop Video button at the bottom of the list of options in that main menu.
- To re-open Picture-in-Picture simply select the Watch In Match Start Video button at the bottom of the list of options in the main menu.
- Audio will be from our English broadcast stream. Unfortunately for this version, we will not have subtitles or captions available. Tune in to Fortnite.com/Watch for more localized Fortnite World Cup content.
- If viewing the broadcast from within a match the audio will be a mix of both the broadcast as well as in-match audio.
Let us know how your viewing experience is and where we can improve for the next version!
